A Parenting Talk was conducted last September 28, 2019 at the Big Conference Room of Colegio de las Hijas de Jesus, Inc. The said event was spearheaded by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the institution. The talk was entitled “Gender and Development (GAD) Sensitive Parenting and Related GAD Laws”. The purpose of the aforementioned talk was to spread awareness among parents, guardians and school personnel on the mental and psychological state of the children in relation with gender and development.
The invited resource speakers were Atty. Paulette V. Tongcua-Cuadras, Public Attorney II of Public Attorney’s Office, Ms. Helen Romero, MA, MTS, Director of Research and Development Foundation of University of San Agustin and Very Rev. Msgr. Meliton Oso, PR, Chairman of Arhcdiocesan Social Action Center. The resource speakers shared various insights on gender equality, its effects on student’s academic performance and several ways to strengthen relationship with the learners most especially to those who are encountering identity crisis and gender inequality.
The talk was attended by parents, guardians and school personnel. Moreover, the PTA plans to organize another Parenting Talk.
