“As an Hija, the effort to represent my school is already both an honor and achievement for me. Not only was I able to give pride to my school, but I was also able to show other people how I was formed in CHJ with a confident and humble heart,” said Tolentino.

She added that she realized it was not merely about winning, but also about the passion and dedication that they nurtured throughout the preparation for the event and competition.

“Our previous experience in other dance contests, such as the Kansilay Dance Sports Competition 2019 and Ronnie Steve Vergara Open Ballroom Competition 2019, definitely aided us in our win. Truly, our hard work and persistence paid off in the end,” said Cala-or.

He added that their coach, Mr. John Noel Espinosa, and their trainer, Mr. Vince Oller, were instrumental in their success and inspired them to work hard in the entire competition.

The duo shall proceed to the Regionals in Filamer Christian University, Roxas, Capiz on Feburary 4, 2020. The duo also plans to join in other dance contests in the future.
